PRANAYAMA

- the Science of Breathing -

workshop

Beginner - parts 1 to 4

Sunday 11th July 2010 ~~~ 3.00 - 6.00pm ~~~ part 4

Venue: 'Nithya Nilayam' Chertsey, Surrey

There is great curiosity and interest in Pranayama at this time and a growing need for people to understand how to go about this practice correctly. From time immemorial, it has been the primary tool of yogis on the path to self-realisation. Patanjali, Agastyar, Boganathar, Lahiri Mahasaya and Mahavatar Babaji and other siddhas all used Pranayama for transformation, and to enter other states of consciousness - even soruba samadhi - and found the science of the breath to be the 'Breath and Bread of Life'. Kriyaji is a master of the breath and is accustomed to entering the breathless state and different levels of samadhi, having been taught personally for many years by her master Mahavatar Babaji. He has instructed her for some time to teach Pranayama to sincere seekers.

She is now giving a four part course on Pranayama for Beginners starting on 20th June 2010.

Kriyaji will start at the very beginning and take the participants to a full understanding of the anatomy of the breath over the four weeks. The teaching will include the theory, the place of Pranayama within yoga practice, but mostly physical practice - the taming of the perturbances of the vayus - Kriyaji will give each student individual attention and correction at every stage, as Pranayama is a powerful tool and needs to be practised correctly.

By embarking upon this course, you commit yourself to at least one hour's private practice a day, and so only sincere seekers are invited. No experience however is required as Kriyaji will take care of you at each stage. Only an open heart is necessary.

Booking in advance is essential on this occasion as numbers are limited.

The workshops are sequential but if you can only do part 1 and not part 2, for example, it is still possible just to do part 1. There will be an opportunity in the future to take part in the next cycle. If you cannot do part 1 then you cannot do the following ones either, as part 1 is necessary before undertaking part 2.

The price for each Sunday workshop is £50.

The workshop will run from 3.00 - 6.00pm.

To book in, a deposit of £50 is required for the first week only.

This represents payment for the first week. The following weeks are taken each Sunday on arrival. You can pay here on the website by using the Paypal button provided below. Once your deposit has been received, you will be sent all the information necessary.
