RULES FOR VISITING KRIYAJI

RULES FOR VISITING KRIYAJI

When you come to visit Kriyaji, you are coming into the presence of the Divine in human form, an Avatar, so you are politely requested to observe these basic rules of behaviour. These rules are not meant to offend anybody - they are there to make it possible for people to visit Kriyaji at all.

  1. Please arrive clean, in freshly laundered clothes, or change into them here – no dark colours, preferably white
  2. Shoes must not be worn either inside the house or inside Nithya Nilayam (the teaching space).
  3. Please wash your hands and face on arrival
  4. Please do not touch Kriyaji
  5. Please stay at least a metre away from Kriyaji and stay away from her left-hand side
  6. If you wish to speak to Kriyaji directly, it is posssible but please talk to one of her assistants first.
  7. If you wish to give Kriyaji a gift, or letter, whatever it may be, please give the item to one of the assistants or ask one of the assistants if you can approach Kriyaji.
  8. All financial information or handling of money is never dealt with by Kriyaji, please direct any questions and the handling of money to her assistants.
  9. Please always arrive in advance of the start time for any sessions, mediations or workshop. If for example a Meditation evening starts at 8pm please make sure you arrive at least 15 minutes before, preferably 30 minutes.
  10. For females: Menstruation (your period). In the Indian tradition ladies with their periods do not visit temples or come in the presence of a saint during this time. This is because the menstruation process of a woman is their most extreme decharging/clearing of the body. This is especially true for the first full three days of the period. Then it is ok to visit Kriyaji, but they should sit at the back of the teaching room for classes, mediations and workshops.
  11. Never point your feet at Kriyaji (when sitting with your legs out in front of you and the soles of your feet point towards the Master), or turn your back on her as it is deemed very rude and disrespectful (you also decharge through your feet).
  12. No alcoholic drink and drugs on the premises.
  13. Kriyaji provides a great deal of guidance through all her work. During group work (classes, mediations, and workshops) it is rare for Kriyaji to provide direct personal readings or guidance. However on occasion this does occur. If you raise a question in front of people, and if Kriyaji chooses to respond, the information will be shared in front of the group and therefore it will not be private. If you do not wish to be addressed in the group context please inform one of Kriyaji’s assistants prior to the class, mediation or workshop commencing. For personal work a separate private session with Kriyaji is advised.
  14. If you are running late for any appointment, meditation or workshop please inform Ian Stuart (07973528937).
  15. To anyone who has any allergies there is a short-haired cat on the premises.
